About

Shaunie started her track and field career at the age of 13 with the Warriors, she later started training with John Cannon from Calgary International. She is living and training in Visalia, Califonia with coach Allen Curtis at the College of Sequios.

She would one day like to compete in the Olympics for Canada.

  • July 28, 2012: Maintains title of Fastest Junior 100 m Hurdler in Canada at Junior Nationals in Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • July 14, 2012: Competes at the World Juniors as Canada's youngest competitor in the 100m Hurdles
  • June 30, 2012: Invited to run 100m Hurdles at Canadian Olympic Trials with Jessica Zelinka, Phylicia George and Priscilla Lopes-Schlep
  • June 17, 2012: Ran a Personal Best (PB) of 13.76 (0.2 wind) in Regina, Saskatchewan . Currently the FASTEST JUNIOR Hurdler in CANADA
  • May 12, 2012: Smashed the 100 MH Junior provincial record, the youngest athlete to ever do this, last set by Angela Whyte.
  • Won a bronze for Team Canada, and was the youngest member of the team at 15 and also was the youngest competition in hurdles, in the Youth Commonwealth Games in Isle of Man, UK in September 2011.
  • Currently ranked 3rd fastest in North American for high school's 60 MH
  • Is a Canadian and Provincial champion for High school Hurdles 60 MH
  • Recently broke the under 18 and under 19 Junior 60 MH record (last record 2004) at the January 2012 Golden Bear meet in Edmonton.
  • Is a current member of Calgary International Track Club and is coached by John Cannon, who has coached over 14 Olympic athletes.
  • Is a client of Be More Fitness Inc. and trains with Belinda Morrison
